About Me

Bio

“Music is a powerful light that disperses darkness bringing peace and harmony to the universe.”

To fully encapsulate this reconciliation, John Evergon employs the fingerstyle guitar as his muse. Educated in the art of Jazz, Blues, and Rock, John uses the magnificent landscape of hometown Portland, Oregon to inspire him to write modern, energetic instrumental-pieces with unique asymmetrical time signatures which set him apart from his peers.

John's compositions mirror a colorful blend of different styles and techniques while his music captures the listeners’ attention with its percussive elements.

Lending on his years of experience in Eastern European rock bands, he was credited with composing distinct melodies and lyrics to various tunes.

Writing fingerstyle compositions in many tunings rooted in genres of progressive-rock and smooth jazz, has allowed John to grow and strive as an instrumental artist.

Some notable influences include; Andy Mckee, Antoine Dufour, Don Ross, Don Alder, Jamal Maneli, Jim Volk, Jon Gomm, Spencer Elliott, Martin Tallstrom, Ralph Towner, Tommy Emmanuel.

Released on February 1, 2019, ‘Constellation of Thoughts’ is John Evergon’s debut solo album, written and composed between 2015-2018. The leading single from the album, titled ‘Extension of the Heart’, was released in 2019.

John also released two singles - an instrumental rendition of the song ‘Hallelujah’ in Dec 2020 & ‘Reflection’ from Soundtrack Mulan in Dec 2021.
